Step onto one of the oldest public golf courses in the country. Established in 1895, Jamestown Golf Course offers a historic and scenic nine-hole experience set against the backdrop of Narragansett Bay. With rolling fairways, generous landing areas, and challenging greens, this links-inspired course is ideal for golfers of all levels seeking a relaxed yet rewarding round.
A Quick Look Back: Golf has deep roots in Jamestown. Originally laid out in a cow pasture near the Dumplings in July of 1895, the course – then known as Conanicut Golf Club – was among New Englandβs first, following the Newport Country Clubβs 1890 debut. By 1901, a new clubhouse was built, and the links were relocated to the Littlefield-Clarke farm, where today0’s course still stands. In 1951, the clubhouse found its current home on Conanicus Avenue. Spanning more than 74 acres, the course includes designated conservation zones to preserve the natural beauty of the landscape.
